Now that Zane is off to afternoon preschool, it is just Karsten and I until I leave to teach my own Spanish class around 2. I've been trying to teach him how to match socks with very little success. He is, however, a master of folding all of them into a Tower of Socks. And he is a very frustrated little boy with the tower comes tumbling down.

First day of school!

Signe in 4th grade, Gunnar in 2nd, and Zane starts preschool on MWF afternoons.
B-Zay confidently announced that he didn't need us to go with him because he already knew where to find his classroom. We followed anyway to take a picture. He was still beaming at the end of the day and said he loves preschool, then promptly took a 10-minute nap on the ride home.

Signe turns 9!!

And spent the afternoon with 5 friends picking out cupcakes at Swee t Mutin y in Pullman, then bowling at Z eppo s. It was Signe's first time bowling, and after a rough start she got a strike and spare (with bumper bouncing help) to get the highest score of 99. Nana is still in town helping with our new nephew Louie, so she came along too.
