9U All-Star Tournament: Latah County Blue Devils

We had a HOT but fun weekend of baseball! Grandpa and Grandma left HR early Thursday morning to make it to the first 11:30 game. We lost both games that day to Nampa and Meridian. Last night they played Twin Falls, and had to win and hold them to only 2 runs to continue in the tournament. The Blue Devils were winning 8-2 until the last inning, when Twin Falls scored 2 runs that kept us from progressing (but we still got the win!). Gunnar played 1st base and had a great game, hitting 2-3 with an exciting triple. (I didn't see Zane standing there with his new snow cone and my demonstrative yelling sent it flying. I bought him another one).
Including all 12 post-season games, Gunnar ended up with the second highest On Base Percentage (.620) and batting average (.391) on the team, behind only Camdyn Hurn.

This morning Signe and Gunnar volunteered with me to keep the scoreboard and pitch count for the 9U Meridian vs Co-County game (mostly kids from Caldwell and Jerome). Meridian crushed Co-County; we wished we could have played Co-County because I think we would have had a great chance to beat them.
Sadly, last night was unexpectedly the last game of the season, because we just got work that the fun end-of-the-year tourney in Orofino next weekend was canceled.
