This kid is ON FIRE!!

Not that you can tell from these goofy selfies! Another family brought a boat so the boys had a blast last night playing in the water.

We are back in Moses Lake (where Nick memorably got his kidney stone last year) for the 10U All Star team to play in a tournament. I am busy doing stats and Nick assistant coaching so I don't have any videos of Gunnar's beautiful swing. He was 9 for 11 (!!! that's .818) with three doubles and five singles, as well as hit by a pitch. He crushed the ball out of the infield every at bat; his two outs were both line drives caught by left fielders. Combined with last week's tournament he is batting a team-leading .647.

He also caught almost all of the five games because he was doing a great job blocking the ball, in spite of the heat. The Blue Devils were 3-2 this weekend.

No games for a couple of weeks, but the team has plenty to work on before the state tournament down in Meridian. The third week in July Moscow will host the 10U regional tournament, which will have teams as from as far away as Canada and Colorado. As hosts we get an automatic berth, so we want to show up and play well!
