The wife of Robert E. Lee

This afternoon Signe's class dressed up for Civil War day, and this was the best outfit we could put together from her dress-up box. She also had to write a letter pretending she was Mary, the wife of the Confederate general.

Karsten's off to a good start in life...

He's perusing the jewelry with a huge wad of bills in his hand so he can buy something "for his wife".

Saturday market

While Nick is out cutting wood (bless him!) and I'm painting downstairs the kids decided to set up a market in the living room. Which is great. Mostly. However, I confess to not looking forward to organizing the return of the piles of books, movies, stuffed animals, play jewelry, plastic food, weapons, costumes, and whatever else they dragged out of their bedrooms. Oh well. Creativity is a wonderful thing, even if it gets a bit messy!

Pucker up.

Pic with Santa

So I finally went online and got a digital copy of the picture that the kids took with Santa at the Woodburn outlet mall. Those are some cheesy grins on some super cute kids!

Wishing they also could have (another) little brother...

My kids spent most of the last day of Christmas vacation today playing at their cousin's house. Zane and Signe argued over who got to hold Louie. Louie was happy to hang out with either of them.

Dogpile and creepy sleeper

I found one more photo taken yesterday during the Duck's tromping of FSU in the Rose Bowl. And below is Signe as she currently naps on our drive back to Moscow. One way we know she is sound asleep is that her eyes are partially open, something she has done since she was a baby. Karsten often sleeps the same way. It can be a bit unnerving to be stared at by lifeless unseeing eyes.
